Namibia Wildlife Photography Tour

The wild and enthralling desert landscapes of Namibia are home to some of the most legendary wildlife on Earth. This 4-day photography workshop into the heart of the Erindi Private Game Reserve will give you incredible opportunities to photograph Africa's most iconic safari animals and endangered species, including elephants, lions, rhinos, leopards, giraffes, cheetahs, zebras, antelopes, countless birds and more. Located in Omaruru and set over 175,000 acres of breathtaking scenery, this protected reserve in Namibia also boasts sprawling landscapes of indigenous trees, grasslands, endless savannah plains and rocky mountains on the horizon, making for a landscape photography paradise. Best of all, the region is officially Malaria-free, meaning that we'll have a relatively healthy journey ahead.

This unmissable wildlife destination is the perfect extension to our 11 Day Namibia Photography Tour, during which you can photograph the stunning landscapes in-depth – from quiver tree forests to the abandoned town of Kolmanskop and the mesmerising salt pans of Sossusvlei.

Combine the two tours for a memorable trip into this remarkable country of spectacular scenery, exceptional wildlife and a cultural experience like no other. Check availability by choosing a date.

Day 1: Arrival

We'll journey from the capital city of Namibia to the Erindi Private Game Reserve, where we'll check in and have lunch. This will be followed by a presentation on wildlife photography, before we take a spectacular sunset drive through the reserve in the afternoon for our first chance at capturing incredible images of the wildlife during the golden hour. Some of the prolific species that you can expect to come eye to eye with include giraffes, zebras, oryx, kudu, wildebeest, waterbuck, springbok, impala, hyenas, warthog and lions. After the sun sets, we'll return to the Lodge for dinner. There is the option of a night safari drive for further opportunities to photograph the wildlife, or we can stay in for a post-processing masterclass delivered by our guides, depending on the wishes of the group.

Day 2-3: Erindi

Over the next couple of days, we'll rise early for breakfast, before heading out on a sunrise drive through the park. The early hours are crucial for the chance to capture the wildlife at their most active. After our sunrise shoot, we'll return to the Lodge for a full English breakfast. Thereafter, we'll have some time to rest and to share another post-processing masterclass, before convening for lunch. As the sun is at its highest in the afternoon, you'll have some leisure time in which you may edit your photos, before we meet together as a group in the afternoon to take advantage of the golden light. We'll head out for another sunset drive and return to the Lodge in the evening for dinner. In the evenings, we will head out on exciting night drives of the park (included in the price of the tour), which will present new opportunities for photography as we enter the mysterious realm of nocturnal species. Hearing the animals calling throughout the night is a magical and eerie experience, and no doubt you'll end up with some truly fascinating pictures.

Day 4: Erindi to Windhoek

This will be the final day of our wildlife photography adventure. We'll rise early for a sunrise drive of the park, before returning to the Lodge for breakfast. After breakfast, we'll pack our belongings and make our way back to the capital city of Windhoek. The journey will take us around 3 hours and we'll arrive by the afternoon. You'll then check in to your hotel before we meet as a group for a farewell dinner at a restaurant in the evening.

Day 5: Departure Day

This will be your final day in Namibia. After breakfast, you’ll be transferred back to Windhoek Hosea Kutako International Airport for your flight home or onwards to your next destination
